Inspired by Motorola started in Chicago in 1928, with its first product being a battery eliminator. In 1930 Galvin Manufacturing Corporation introduced the Motorola radio, one of the first commercially successful car radios. The name is a blend of "motor" and the then popular suffix -ola used with audio equipment of the time.

Inspired by bottle caps originally designed to be pressed over and around the top of a glass bottle to grab a small flange on the bottleneck. Patented by William Painter on February 2, 1892. It had 24 teeth and a cork seal with a paper backing to prevent contact between the contents and the metal cap.

Inspired by Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

These icons are inspired by a device that allows light to pass for a determined period of time in photography. The shutter consists of a number of thin blades which briefly uncover the camera aperture to make the exposure. The larger the number of blades, the more accurately circular is the aperture.

Another amazing art experiment, this time its inspired by a Delaunay triangulation. The triangulation is named after Boris Delaunay for his work on this topic from 1934.

These icons are made to match any iOS 7 themes like a glove.
The new icons have been actively criticized on the basis of primitivism, over-simplicity and a "childish" distractive look. It was also noted that Apple's own website displayed different icons for several iOS 7 apps at a period of time, leading to speculation that the icons were already in the process of being changed due to their reception.
